I spoke to Lloyd about a few options. If I get a billet cam through him the specs will look like this:
226/239 .565/.587 114 LSA
Drive gear will be cast which is what I want.
Pretty damn close to what I'm going for.
He also recommended I stay away from the LS7s and go with Lunati 72438-16 lifters ($215) instead. Can't seem to find many people using them so I wonder if they're any better. People rave about the Morels but they're more than double the price.
Lloyd doesn't recommend crap parts. If he suggests it, they will work. On car parts, most of the time, you get what you pay for, if ya know what I mean.
Cam sounds near identical to mine.
Same as the one for our 383, but ours on a 112
So,
Crower 66330-16 @ $220 (saw Karl Ellwein recommend these)
vs
Lunati 72438-16 @ $215 (from Lloyd)
vs
makin' it rain with 4708s @ $500+
I wonder how different (internally) these Crowers are to the links you guys are using... they seem cheap
I would have gone with the crowers recommended by Karl if I wasn't guilted into the link bars.
Add Howard's Cams 91174 to the list. So now I just need to do some research on each and pick whatever is the best.
