Which exhaust setup are you running now? Magnaflow or Porter

still the mufflex 3.5" single with the single custom porter muffler. the magnaflow is under the workbench lol
that's one thing that's wild, it's definitely a very distinct sound, compared to the borla/8802 cam and osies procharged 385 with the same mufflex/magnaflow. when I had the mufflex magnaflow we started my car and his car at the same time and mine definitely sounds way different because of the cam

For reference of where hood vs tb is. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a5ceddc9c9.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...fa8ed6ac0f.jpg

Looks better from that angle. The earlier photo appeared to show the TB under the wiper mount.
Still need to keep the air path away from the wiper mount, so it limits the distortion, and produces even air flow into the throttle bores.
Are you going to keep the Ram Air hood? Air's going to be kinda warm before it gets to the TB. Maybe opt for a cowl hood, for direct, cool air flow to the throttle bores?
i didnt see any issues with iat on the low rise vic efi intake at the rental. the engine is in no way going to max out this throttle body, this flows 1250cfm peak with no spacer. the engine doesnt even flow that much. in the data from the rental with the iat right next to the tb, yea at idle it was warm, but the second i cracked the throttle on the footbrake it was only about 10-15 above ambient, and once i went wot within the 60ft (approximately 1.5 seconds into the run) the iat was only a few degrees above ambient. the ram air hood unrestricted the way it is, once i am moving down track with any mph there is cool air flowing across the whole top of the engine. iat adders are turned off in my tune since the iat was relocated before with the elbow.
i really do not want to change the hood to a cowl, i do not like the look, and i thought you wanted me to not mess with the body lol. about the ONLY cowl hood i would consider is the low rise sunoco style cowl (think ram air with no ram air nostrils, wide cowl)
i thought about making a super sucker style tray like some of the ls1 single plane guys did to use the ss style hood opening as a functional opening. right now just gotta get it sorted first before we start chasing hundreths of a second.
funny part of this: was talking to the guy who machined the intake, and I was looking at his 8second sbc s10 (427 on spray) i said do you worry about iat? he said no it's carbed and the nitrous cools it enough lol

LMAO, It amazed me that when I was thinking out loud, all these companies are still making 4th gen f body hoods with scoops. Some are ugly, and some are ugly with big tits. LOL Nolan
Oh, The first thing I thought about your kids Camaro is how good the hood scoop looked. If you could get that look on the Bird, Hmmmm.
$400 dollhairs later for a new fuel and purge noid so everything matches and looks pretty ugh....lol
Thanks for keeping it neat and tidy....... :D
if i wanna use a carb cover and close the stockish ram air hood, I have to cut the inside of the hood [emoji24]

strongly considering just going crazy, finding a stock formula hood, cutting it, and running a carb style scoop for the laughs.
Funny, I had the same thought about using a scoop, but cringed at the thought of hacking the Ram Air hood. Unfortunately, we put my stock hood out for heavy trash collection day a couple years ago, because nobody wanted it.
Turn the scoop around facing the windshield and take advantage of the high pressure area. :D
The VFN 3" cowl pin on only weighs 14 lbs. Bolt on one is pretty light too at 25 lbs. Might be worth a 1/10 LOL
i really dislike the vfn, if I could find an old American design one with the cowl boxy like the camaro I'd try it, but that one is no longer made.
all Nitrous Express Solenoids now, cleaned it up. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7a18449cec.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...71663dcd29.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...65f6dabe79.jpg

Motec install

Looks great. Some companies do tend to get gawdy about their brand name on the products. I think thats the first I've ever seen that even put their phone number. Decided on a hood yet?
Nolan
my daughter peeled the sticker and gloss black vinyl wrapped it, it looks so much betterhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a0220c5b00.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...cfae9071fa.jpg

Attachment 40705
bingo. that's the style cowl I would run if I could find one. I cant find them still made in that style, just the bubble curved cowl from vfn
new bolt and it's installed/loctited
waiting on a new pressure transducer for the nitrous, the one from last year was leaking out of the plug pins.
i also may have 2 flexible lines made for the noid to plate connections, I found dynotune nitrous is still around and can make as short as 3". I need 2 at 4.5". the hardlines are a bit of a pain in the ass. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9e171de7b7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...96569ce7ba.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...78aa638c50.jpg

I used to DROOL over that red cowl hood. Good luck finding one.

all that just to have to pull the intake again and reseal the front china wall, after a short 7 mile drive it's pissing. damnit
do i get redneck and finger paint it with rtv and pray? or pull it. so aggravated

so it appears the right stuff rtv must have been too cold and i let it skin up too much, as it did not adhere AT ALL to the block or the intake on the front china wall. i can slide a 0.015 feeler gauge thru it, feels like it pushes thru easy, like the rtv is just laying there like a gasket not under tension.
very very very irritated. spent all this time making it pretty and shit just to tear it back apart over something dumb. but hey atleast it sounded cool
