Did that procharger come with that large pully?
Yea it's a 3.7 on the blower and I have a 7.5 and an 8.5 crank pulley I believe
I mean the with. Many rib pulley.
Oh yea. 12 of em. Ribbed for your pleasure. She's all about that bass, no treble
Hahaha... mine is not that big (ull never hear me say that oitside of this topic.)
Btw... are u not gonna run an intercooler on this set up?
Oh yea. It's right there, I just have to clock the compressor housing and plumb it up. I'd like to weld a v band clamp on the outlet but I don't think I'll have time
Gonna do the e85 or meth then?
Just going to run intercooled on pump gas on low boost for the time being. After I get comfortable with the tune I will put the big pulley on and go e85 non intercooled
When are we testing this beast?
Wednesday?
I'm drawing up the bracket now. I'll have it ready to send to my water jet guy monday. If he can get it turned around quickly and I don't have any other issues, yes. Wednesday it is
Well, here it is. Sent it out to my water jet guy so hopefully he'll have it ready soon.Attachment 30117
Cant wait!
Someone is selling a water injection Kit on here if that is something ur interested in.
Have I ever mentioned that I have a bad ass contact for waterjetting? Going to pick up my bracket NOW!
Thats awesome!!!!!
Sweet. .. I'm ready to see a wheelie video, on the street. Like fast and furious charger wheelie :)
This thing needs to be fed the corn !
Well, if this bracket comes together like it should, it would be quicker to dump the outlet right into the intake....
Wouldn't need it on the high fructose corn syrup
Stout runs 20+ psi on his turbo with no intercooler
Ya ya ya!!! sell them injectors and do it!
So purty... I wanna polish it. Lol
Let's just see if it works first lol
You mean here?

I'm going to cut the bottom of the radiator support out and lower it about 2" so I can tuck the entire fan/radiator assembly UNDER the support and that will give me plenty of clearance for the belt drive. Bracket fit great. I need to pull it back apart and get the tensioner area milled down about an 1/8" like the original procharger bracket does (in order to clear the belt) then pipe it up.
YES!!!! Almost.
First fire. Never mind the inlet and outlet off the blower....

Congrats!!!!
Thanks Larry. I caught a huge break with getting pulled off that big overtime job or it wouldn't have happened. I'm planning to have it at test and tune tomorrow night. She'll either go or blow.
Good news. I am pulling for all go and no blow.
Yeah we will be there after work. Got some tweaking to do on my tune and I should be ready.
Good deal. The GN will be joining us. He's just running NA but has some god awful 4.56 gears that we are going to have to try and work with.
Looking forward to seeing both those Gbodys tomorrow.
The GN has 11's in it na I believe. I'm shooting for mid 12's in mine
good luck to u all!!!!
What a day.... what a busy last few months!
I don't know why but the last thing I ever do is tune my car after a change. This year's shootout was no exception. Had the car ready enough to do some track tuning Wednesday night. Was going to make a few na passes, then try out the boost. Backed the car off the trailer, went to tech in..... absolutely wouldn't stay running. Couldn't figure it out in time for a storm moving in and ended up limping it back on the trailer. Thursday I decided to go back and address all the "temporary" installs I had, you know, the ones you do just to make sure it works... well that took all day Thursday. Friday morning I cone to the conclusion that the engine doesn't care much for less than 13.5 afr at idle, so I fatten it up. Finish up looking everything over and take it out for a road test (na, mainly checking the shift points were not too high) Everything looked good and it had a good idle so I pull it on the trailer yet again for Friday night midnight madness. A storm threatened to shut it down but i was going up to hang out at the hotel anyway so I just took my cruze. About 45 minutes into the trip brad calls and says "hey they're running at gateway".... so I missed that opportunity. Which leads me to today...
We get to the shootout at 8am, unload, everything sounds good, looks good (aside from a years worth of dust on the hood and roof) and we go on our cruise. Car does fine. LOVE the procharger. Nice and mild when you need it to be, plenty of boost when you ask for it. Get back from the cruise, cars cool down, we get called to starting line. Now I get nervous.... i don't have a visual afr gauge (yet) to keep an eye one, and I can't really try to watch a laptop while racing, so I set the shift points at 5500 so I could get a full load pull without running the risk of spinning it too high and leaning it out. Short burnout.... come out of the hole in my usual style... spinning, peddling, hit the Rev limiter set at 6200 (trying to be conservative) I come out long enough to regain footing and go wide open again....it's popping and backfiring a little then pow, nothing. Had enough momentum to roll me to the first track exit. I try starting it again, nothing but the occasional backfire. So the tow truck grabs me and takes me to my trailer. I'm spent. Tired of banging my head against a wall. I'm gonna throw in the towel. I look a few things over, nothing stands out except for that occasional backfire. Gotta be ignition related I feel. The engine has water pump spacers on it so I figure what the hell, I'll pull the opti off. This is what I find...

One rotor screw had came out, other was sheared off. As luck would have it, I packed a complete brand new spare. So I swap it out and although I'm out of true street, they were just getting ready to run espa, so after much debate and reservation (just ask brad lol) I decide to go for it.
First pass, it's still not shifting when it's supposed to, and has a lot of hesitation up top. I roll out of the hole very delicately, scared shitless that for some reason more bad things would happen.

afr looked good, but I fattened it up just in case and pulled some timing...

Got a little better but still not shifting when it's supposed to and popping. Guy that had been helping us asked what tire pressure I was running, kinda forgot that it was something to pay attention to TBH, I'm a nOOb. They're at 21#. He takes them down to 18. And a finally decide that the trans is just not going to shift when I want it to, and the afr was still looking good up top, so I bump up the rev limiter to 6350. Leave the line a little harder and it sticks this time. Kinda took me by surprise and was pulling really hard so I just kept the throttle where it was when I left the hole for some reason, ended up that was 60-70%

Now it's looking better! Afr is still good and now its the finals, so i take the rev limiter to 6600 and drop 2 more pounds out of the tires...

No popping or hesitation on that run, still babied out of the hole a bit but went to full throttle and shifted out at 6300 making 13# of boost. Afr was spot on.
I may play with the timing a little at the certified performance dyno day to see if there's anything left on the table but aside from that, it just needs a little part throttle tuning. Very happy with how the car did, especially with no front or rear sway bars on it and cheap summit drag shocks.

I was car number 9 btw...
