Atleast you don't have to worry about towing it back to the pits on a dyno. That and you can go lazy on suspension setup.

For sure! I am considering a very similar build for next winter. But mine may include FI as I mentioned. If the budget doesn't allow then this will be more than enough to play with in the meantime!

Well i have Thursday's and Sundays off. Get the radiator out and have it torn down to a shortblock and i can possibly lend a hand if i can find someone to watch the baby.
Whatever you do make sure to torque the head bolts to at least 500ft lbs. Really gets the gasket seated

The block thread is damaged, just the first thread in it literally. Won't allow it to start all the way.
So... run a thread cleaner or tap through it...?
