It was a rhetorical question
Without the site, would the shootout be as popular, or without the shootout would the site be able to swing its own event?

I honestly don't think the shootout make it without this site. After this year, I don't think it'll make it even with this site....has me worried.

Right, I know the details, I am merely posing the question as to why the separation.
Who here has TITANFALL?
Josh laitner explained it very well somewhere but I can't find it...
basically this site hadn't been created yet when the original coordinators started the event. It has always been a separate entity but it is primarily plugged on this site. I'm not sure how many come from ls1tech but I estimate at least 80% come from here. It is the main reason I feel so strongly about the need for them to at least throw ideas of major change out before implementing them. I would like to think if you were putting on the only event for a small community you would actively seek their opinions and suggestions to make the event better. I've asked in the past about only allowing changes to the rules every 3 years. This would give people time to enjoy their build before having to upgrade to stay in the class they want to run in. Lets face it, we are just enthusiasts with a desire to compete. These engines just cost more to build to go fast and nobody wants to have to change their setup every year to remain in the class they want to run in. This has all fell on deaf ears as well as my suggestion to leave the rules be for this year until they see how the change in scenery and season affects things. I am concerned as well.
