they make gold plastidip, it wouldn't be hard to try it out and see how you like it before dropping it off at the paint shop.

Its called a speedy sleeve n its the same as the sleeve repair people do on balancers or pinion yokes it gives the seal a new surface to ride against. You can't see it but thats where it goes
