The ebay intercooler came in today, and it's pretty much so beat up I can't use it. So It's getting shipped back. And I also can't believe how much it weighs, I wasn't expecting it to weigh that much.

Finished up all the turbo piping. And I have a change of plans, I will be going 396 instead of 383 and I will not be running an intercooler but I will be running meth. My Callies ultra XD rods came in the other day. Not sure if I want Buy a new Callies crank or just use my Eagle 4340 out of my old 396 and save some money. I've seen quite a few engines with eagle cranks making a lot of power and they rate them at 1500 hp but it still makes me nerves. The next step is getting the car ready for the 10 pt cage getting put in it in two weeks.
I haven't posted on here for awhile but the build is coming along, slowly but surely. Seems like every time I work on the car I find another $500 part I need to buy. I ended up going with Powerglide transmission with a Hughes converter. I got the 8.50 cert cage in and that took around 5 months for the chassis shop to get done and that's the main reason the car isn't as far along as it should be. And I ended up trading my GT47-88 and some cash for a Comp 91 dual ball bearing billet wheel turbo. I'm also staying 396 instead of going 383. Should make some good power. Saving up for a turbowerks scavenging pump and a AIS meth kit right now. Attachment 23500Attachment 23499Attachment 23498Attachment 23497

i'm likin that intake elbow. it's the only one i've seen that doesn't require cowl hacking. where did you get it?
like what you did with the upper radiator support. are you going to have any issue with clearance for getting the bumper on and the hood latched? just curious i'm re doing mine i first started to notch mine so i could stand the radiator up a little, but i think it will just be easier to hacked it off, and then just use some square or rectangle tubing, then to re box in what i hacked up lol.
Thanks! No issues, Ive already mocked everything up and I made my own bracket that the bumper cover bolts to. And I also have aerocatch latches so I don't use the stock latch anymore. And I just used square tubing then made that cover/radiator mount to clean it up a bit. Once I start getting along a little farther I'll take some more pictures of the front end.
It's from Aaron's Intake Elbows, I believe his website is www.6061.com. I'm not sure If he's still making them though, It's a very nice piece. The welds on it are beautiful!
i got nothing on a search i did after i initially saw this thread and now get nothing for 6061.com. thats unfortunate because i would consider an intake change on my upcoming turbo build if i could find one of these elbows.
This is an awesome build..... I'm switching over to turbo over the winter and you gave me something to think about.... Like what you did with the radiator!!
Just a few updated pictures. Installed my AIS meth kit, It's a three nozzle system (Two intake and one pre turbo). I pretty much have everything finished up in the engine bay, Just need to finish up the wiring and put the interior back in. Also ordered a Boost Leash boost controller with co2. Finally starting to see some day light at the end of the tunnel lol.
Very nice. Im going to have to go through this thread more for some possible ideas
Making you silky smooth...
Oil or atf cooler/filter up front?
Bad ass!
@NASA any updates on this bad boy
I had it pretty much ready to start but found out my scavenging pump wasn't working so I had to send that in and get it fixed, it's on its way back now. Got my rear wheels in. they are made by champion billet, and I still need to order my fronts which are going to be Weld 17'' alumastars. And I finished my gauge cluster, I just used my old gauge cluster and cut out a piece of aluminum then used our Vinyl printer at work to print the inlay. Hopefully I can get it started this weekend.
don't forget the video!
Looks great. Nicely done.
Ditto. Really digging the gauge cluster too!
4.11 gears here, 28 inch tall tire.... I trap 129/130 and I'm well into 6000 rpms crossing the trap in 4th

Finally got it started up after having some VATS issues. I should have it pretty much all finished up in a few weeks.
Well after melting a piston because of an injector getting clogged two months ago, I finally got the car back to the track. Ran a new best of 5.87@118 on only 14lbs of boost. It really surprised me when it ran that number. the tune is still conservative, afr's were only 10.8 to 11.0 and timing was only 21.5*. While I had the engine out I pulled the water/meth kit off and put a air to water on it (I should of done that in the first place).

Sweet ! That thing is moving!

This has been one of my favorite builds to follow :D
