i used to have an S&W .500, until my parents sold it.
they figured having a high caliber revolver around someone who was depressed wasn't the greatest idea ever.
good thing they didn't know that i had tried to use it to do exactly what they didn't want me to do. i failed because of 6 duds in a row...:face_shocked:
now i'm looking for something else. just more for target practice, but that will still have some stopping power in case i ever had to use it. i'm going to try and get my concealed carry too, so it needs to be decently small.
RED FLAG WARNING!
Please tell us you have the issue all sorted out! No matter how tough things get
you will make it through. The pursuit of happiness is just that, a constant pusuit.
If you ever need to vent feel free to type it all out! We worry if people go absent from the forum
Wow, ok... three things....
#1, Please confirm that you have yourself straightned out before even thinking about buying another firearm....
#2, be careful writting things like that where someone may see it. honestly, I have received many third party calls regarding things just like this from people who care about the person that tied my hands and forced me to involuntarily comit people for being a threat to harm themselves or others. (thats the cop in me, give you heads up bro.)
#3, Like Chris said, if you ever need to vent, do it...... dont bottle it up till its to late. OK?
well first 45 long colt or 45 acp? As far as I know the acp is not very popular in the revolver world, its more of a pistol cartridge
for me a revolver would be a good first gun, pretty easy to take care of, and nothing to jam.
its like people say, you would rather have 6 sure shots than maybe 15.
Why not a 38 special?
As in the pictures above, I have a Rossi and a Taurus, both are great, the Rossi had to be smoothed out when I first got it, but the Taurus was great out of the box. I picked up the Rossi for about 300 bucks, and the Taurus for about 400, both brand new in box
Rossi is actually owned by taurus.
Just an FYI
My 38 special is a lot more fun to shoot than my Grendel, especially since my Grendel had a small feed issue, which should be taken care of now, but haven't had a chance to get back out and shoot it. Hence why the revolver goes with me, and being a stub-nose and 5 shots, it carries quite well.

Have any of you guys shot a EAA Witness in all steel? When I was looking it was my favorite out of the case holding but they didnt have it in a rental.
They offer it as a 45/22 kit which would be great for target shooting. I am going to need to do alot of it since I am blind in one eye. Also I think I may try shooting lefty with my 500a as I can see the sight alot better.
newest addition to my collection...

just picked up my first handgun, got a Smith and Wesson 5946
Well, my boyfriend is pretty into guns (he has a shit ton of them). I got to shoot his AR-15 (M-16 I think?) this weekend up at his cabin. The state police showed up 15 minutes later for noise complaints. I'm not very knowledgable about guns, but he has some brake on it that deflects all the noise energy backwards (making it really loud), but it reduces the kick in turn. Pretty easy to shoot. He also had his Benelli Super 90 M1 something or other (I guess it's a common long gun that law enforcement uses), and a Mauser K98. He also has two H & K 45s, and a 44 revolver. There are a bunch of other ones, I just can't remember.
Sweet, here it is

I love the punisher cover on the glock, I was just looking at getting one for my G32 with the same picture. Did you order yours from the glockstore? They want $20 plus shipping.
no i got it from ndzperformance on ebay. same price as glockstore but i liked the way this one looks better
Talking to a few of you guys already but I know there's alot of gun peeps on the forum, looking to purchase a pistol under $600ish if possible. I've always had big guns (pun intended) like 45s, 357magnums etc. but no longer own any pistols. This will be my only, it will be for general carry(not ccw) protection and some occasional family time with targets. Kinda leaning towards a 40 but I do miss my big 45. Throw some ideas at me.
The Glock 23 and 27 .40 are pretty good guns. I like and have both of them. The Ruger SR40C are also a nice pistol, thats what my wife CCW.
I would check out a range that lets you rent guns, shoot as many as you can and pick the one you like. 600 max budget gives you alot of options.
Yeah I think that's what I'm gonna do, I'm a bigger dude so fit is an issue sometimes, I love compacts and sub compacts but they don't always feel good in my hand. I've never been a glock guy but damn it's hard to ignore the reliability. Guys shooting 50,000 and more rounds without a hiccup! They just aren't very easy on the eyes in my opinion lol. I'm def coming around though.
I love my g17
Full size..9mm bought as my first gun for the academy.... Never shot before... And i got the sharpshooter award outta my class of 300...
I know its just a 9mm... But ive never been as accurate with any other gun.
i have a 40 sig for work... Its..ehhhh and feels tiny in my hand.
I bought my old duty weapon beretta 96f.... Horrible!!! Also a .40
Im def a glock fan!
