Im glad its been raining here after seeing that pic!
HOLY SHNIKIES! Im glad I live in the south! I think Ive only seen snow 3 times in real life. Although floods and hurricanes do suck as well. Katrina killed my '88 300z...........I cant believe how low of mileage some of you guys have on your cars either! :face_shocked:
yeah, i'm hoping we're DONE with snow for the year. it's looking good. it's cold enough to snow right now but theres no precip till next week and by that time it will be warm enough to rain again. i was awake last night around 1am and saw flashing lights go by and was like "awe crap they are salting for ice" but then i realized they were blue (subdivision security) and not yellow.
my car doesn't have super low mileage (123k) but you'd never tell that by looking at the body. you don't see 14 year old cars with over 100k miles up here in northern indiana with underbodies like this

even my suspension is clean

nothing out of the ordinary. whenever i get the car washed i have the underbody sprayed.
that clean underbody comes from not seeing a single northern winter. the car was originally from hawaii, then north carolina (got sprinkled on by snow once that melted a few hours later, it wasnt driven in the stuff) and then Florida where i bought it in 2004. i then i moved to AZ in 2005 and had it there till the summer of 07. it's only been in indiana 2 years and i pull it off the roads before the first snow. the hawaii, north carolina, florida info was told to me by the original owner, and somewhat verified by carfax. the car was originally titled in hawaii, but they were military so when the car came back to mainland, they registered it to a PO box in kansas. i remember when i went to look at it i crawled underneath and was looking for rust and he was like "you won't find any, the plates say kansas but it was never even driven there" sure enough when i got the title it had a PO box address on it.
i had it at the body shop in 2007 after that incident with the hay bale and the body shop also had a black WS6 LS1 car there, probably a 2001/2002 and the body shop owner (whom i've known for over 10 years) said that my 95 was cleaner underneath than that car. it's all about keeping it out of the snow/salt
My 95 (134K) lived it's entire life in SoCal until the guy got a job transfer to Michigan. The underside of it is nearly as nice as my 94. Neither of them have seen winter weather though. I was litterally blown away when I put new suspension components on the 95 that everything backed off so easily.
Location definitely makes a difference.
