what ls1 shaft where you talking about ?

I'm wanting to put in an LS1 steering shaft (the one that goes from the rack to the main column) to replace the shitty rag joint shaft that came in LT1 cars. It will fit but you have to bust out the spline, reclock it 90 degrees and weld the spline back into place. I don't have the tools to do this, so I was trying to find someone that did or could do it for me.

I woulda thought the functional ram air would provide better response and higher hp due to its functionality of true RAM AIR.

Yeah, but the 5hp difference really doesn't bother me and isn't noticeable. I just think the factory intake looks goofy as heck.

They do look goofy on the camaros, I would defiantly hold on to it because those things are EXPENSIVE and hard to find.
If I was going to do heads and wanted a milder setup I would do the LE2 heads but run a milder le1 cam or just a cam with less overlap because you WILL want more power later.

The actual design of the ram air on an LT1 4th gen SS is not good. The air has to make a bunch of 90 degree bends. Almost like a spiral. The straight through setup on the Firehawk works much better.

I already sold it. I got like $150 for it or something.

About the heads, I'm not completely sure yet. Come this fall, i'll call LE and see what they have to say with my plans for the car and it having 135k miles, etc. Any cam that doesn't need to spin too high and makes good low end torque would probably be good enough for me.

Ive got a LE 224/231 custom grind and it had loads of midrange and will pull to about 6100-6200, witch should last a while shifting at 6150
I cant tell any loss of low end at all.
