Amazing.... in 1997 they were $30 from a discount GM parts dealer. The question at that time was whether the LT4 KM would work at all in an OBD-1 PCM. To try and shed some light on that question, I ran my relatively stock (late production) 94 on low octane fuel, and observed knock retard on my Scanmaster. Knock retard was identical with both the LT1 and LT4 KM's. That would seem to suggest that by the time the signal reaches the KM, it has been stripped of the carrier voltage and is purely a Hz based signal. Just speculation though.
Next question would be does it filter out the added noise of full roller rockers. I had no way to check that. By the time I had the CC Pro-Mags, I was running a solid roller cam, using a MoTeC ECU (which is capable of reading and reacting to knock sensor input) and we decided based on Second Street's past experience that a knock sensor and solid roller lifters would not play well together. Which KM was a moot point. I sold the LT4 KM in 2000, probably for $25. Would have been a better investment to hold onto than some of may mutual fund choices :D
I think that most of the claims made for the LT4 KM are myth... I don't think it tames false knock from a loud exhaust, for example. It was designed for a specific purpose, and I suspect that's all it's really good for. I certainly wouldn't recommend spending a huge sum of money for one. Run the PCM with the LT1 KM, monitor knock retard. If you feel there is excessive KR, cut back on attack and speed up decay response, limit the maximum, and then read the plugs for signs of detonation to insure you haven't overdone it.
Bought all of mine between 35 and 100 bucks over the last 15 years and multiple ltx vehicles.

I was just looking at LT4 knock modules. Is there a way to reduce the threshold for it in tunerpro?
Edit: Ahh shit nvm I should read slower.
