Keep in mind that the spring pressures i mentioned are based on proper PR length and valve trane geometry so things like this cause more spring pressure to be required.

A valve spring is strongest when new and will lose a lil pressure on start up and a lil more after the first 100-1000 miles and then stay there.

I would use a gooddbl spring and set the springs up at 150 lbs on the seat and they will live a long time..

@nigthtrain66 do you have any recommendations on a spring that you like?

Depends on what you wanna spens but a good $250 spring kit is the lunati 73925 K5 kit forLT1.

It has springs, retainers, locks, locators and seals all for $250.

These will work with XFI, Voodoo, QXI, QNI lobes and live for 30-40 K miles in a street car.

You can ALWAYS spend more and more $$$ on springs ( Isky tool rooms, Manley Nexteks, etc, are $400-500 for SPRINGS ONLY) . The average person reading this board doesn't "need" these but if you have a bracket car that gets 300 passes a year or a real serious build they are a good idea. Most people can save that $$$ and get the Lunati 73925 K5 kit for what they are doing.

The Lunati 73925 K5 kit will work with those Ultradyne lobes with out breathing hard at all.
