Build it so we can be cam buddies!!

I just found some dish tops for sale locally that would get me to 8.5 compression. How much more boost could I try and squeeze out of it with them? They are forged ross pistons -19cc dish. I will also be using forged 5140 6 inch rods with a forged gm crank. Would you guys recommend anything that I should know about turboing lt1s or things I could do to improve the set up. I am planning on running 2.5 intercooler piping. I think that should be sufficient, fill me in. You guys are all great for the ltx community! Thanks, it really does help a lot!
It will be a dog out of boost, I would not go that low unless you plan on +20psi
My 355 build was 8.5:1 but the roots blower negated any low end doginess. There was really no such thing as "off boost", it was either idling or balls out so I can't help you in that aspect. What size combustion chambers/heads are you running? Has the block been decked? Also, the 5140 rods are no stronger than stock ones, so look into a 4130 rod.
I just now saw this. That cam would work pretty well imo.
I'm 8.5:1, its not horrible out of boost but I'm an auto and a 383. I do plan on bumping it to 9.5:1 this winter, e85 will like it better I bet.
2.5 or 3 inch cold side piping? Personal preference or actual gains to be had?
At what rpm/hp/boost would the 2 bolt mains start to be a weak point? They will have studs. And for those that have done the 4 bolt splayed mains, how much did that end up costing you? Thanks for all the help. I've been gathering parts slowly.
The 4-bolt conversion is worth it IMO, as you always want more power and it's pretty easy to increase boost with a turbo. Might as well have the 4 bolt caps in there ;)
