If you are going to street drive it, I would suggest the cheap VW tire to save a few bucks. If it is street and strip then go with a Micky radial as said above. Ideally the best setup would be to have 2 sets of tires up front. A set with the VW tire for street duty, and a set with a Moroso DS-2 (or similar bias ply) for the track. If the budget allows. A 15x3.5 Weld draglite with a 26" bias ply Moroso tire is almost the same weight as a 165/85r/15 VW tire by itself. That's an extra 18-20lbs off of the nose. If you run a Moroso bias ply on the street, it will be gone in about 500-750 miles.

I still run the cheap radial skinnies for DOT class racing and then I have another set of MT ET Fronts for anything else, trapping low 120's.

Hoosier bias ply up front, been mid 130s on em, and def would not street drive on em :lol:

We ran t speed rated 165/15 at 140 mph with no problems. We now run Mt on the front.
