Its not a vented opti.
It might have.I didnt know it was just a couple small vacuum lines.ive not checked it.Can I use the 94 sensors and the 94 harness on the 95 engine?
you should be able to drop it in as is and hook it up. The only thing you would need is the jumper harness to plug into the 95 opti. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OPTISPAR...384#vi-content
If the new engine does not have a vented opti, it is probably a 94 engine. They will have a non vented cap and a Spline drive opti.
Use the new engine but swap the cap over so it is vented. It's a simple thing to do. If you swap Optis, you would have to swap timing set and and timing cover as well.
If you need help just let me know, and I'll come over to help some. I'm off around 5 during the week days.
It is either a 93 or 94 engine. Picture of the intake would let us know which exactly. The 96 complete opti will not work unless it has a different timing set and cam. The stock 93-94 cam doesnt have the hole required to slide the opti into and the cam do pins are different lengths. If the cam dowel pin is longer than the timing gear and the timing gear doesnt have teeth on the center hole it may bave been swapped out to the newer style. Insert a screw driver into the center hole as far in as it will go into the center of the timing set. Put your thumb at the timing gear face on the screw driver and give us a measurement of the insertion depth of the screw driver. This will tell us if there is a different cam like you stated in another post. You were told it had a lt4 hotcam but at this point with what you are showing and saying I wouldnt believe a word you were told. I would also pull a valve cover and check what rockers are installed. The lt4 cam kit has aluminum rockers with a chevy bowtie on them.
If all checks out and you post up pictures of exactly what you have, you may get lucky and be able to replace the timing cover to your 96 one and use the opti set up you have. Until we see what you have it is a guess at best. We need more info.
Check the partial VIN on the back of the engine:

Alright,Its over 1/2 inch depth. It also has teeth on the timing gear.I ordered a new opti but it hasnt come in yet.Im going try and use the one that cam on the engine.I broke a bolt on my puller and couldnt get the opti off the bad engine.Ive had some problems with the engine pull.Ive not got to do any work on it the last 2 days.I have my engine in my buddies garage and he had a family emergency.I hope to put it in tomorrow morning.
There is no aftermarket cam in the engine then. Have to use the non vented 93-94 opti.
