I have driven my car the exact same way, but I will be swapping the clutch for the 3rd time in the last ~40K miles, all with a broken TOB.
Same symptoms occurr.
Metallic noises if you compress the pedal to the floor or it won't start at all with it to the floor
Increasing pressure to compress the pedal
and for me, it finally snaps the TOB
I don't remember examining the clutch fork that closely the last time though, so when I pull it I'm definitely going to grind down if I see any contact marks.
I was beginning to think I was the only one with these problems.
