Nah. I kid. I've had good luck with my optis. 3 high mileage LT1s, only one with a replaced opti, none failed on me.

The nice thing? That thing drove 60 miles to get me to my driveway. Sure I couldn't go more than 45, and I backfired every 5 minutes, but it got me home.

another one bites the dust. is it an AC delco?

It was OE as far as I know. 96000 miles on it.
