If check the mating surfaces: intake to head, head to block, etc usually the higher mileage the grimier they look, may give you an idea if any leaking fluid or might help identify the true mileage if it's super dirty. Also if you can get under it check for a leaky rear main cuz that would be my worst fear lol

I didn't see any bad oil leaks. I think I might get it if the compression is good.. Where can I find what the compression should be at psi?

Gonna try and get him down to $1650 though which is what I offered him and he said $1775.

I don't see how it's possible to put 127k miles on a car in less than a year.

I'm thinking comp for a basic sbc is 180? I also remember being told the number isn't as important as how close the cylinders are to each other tho. Like 15% difference is ok, anymore variation indicates issues iirc
