Can't use em in comps, but they are supposed to work on perfecting your groove path. For a BB like Joelster tucking his elbows prob isn't what he has always benched with so should be a big help for making bigger numbers.
I would think that they might be allowed in competition under the same guidelines as an equipped lifter with a single-ply shirt. I'm sure they don't help as much as a bench shirt though.
For me I always treated bench as a chest exercise so I mostly do it with my elbows out which forces more work on your chest. I'd love to hit some big numbers on my bench and if this helps me to blast my tri's and get through a sticking point then i'm cool with it. I've been stuck at 315x4-5 for a few months now. Arm wrestling didn't help though. Set me back a solid month.

Well I've tried the slingshot twice so far. Both workouts sucked real bad. Still in intense pain in both elbows and slight pain in my shoulders. Today's workout was a joke. Went raw up to 225 for 5 and couldn't handle the pain. Had zero muscle pain at all, they were hardly working. Just searing pain in both elbows. Enough that I couldn't push through, and had to stop. Put the slingshot on and did a single of 275. Then a single of 315. Then put on 340 and it went up like nothing, lol. The hardest part for me in using the slingshot is that it's very hard to unrack the weight. I normally keep me hands really wide, almost to the stands. Then I can just pop the weight off of the racks. With the slingshot i have my hands inward about 5" from normal. It makes it much harder for me to unrack, and I can't expect my girl to help much there, lol. The next time I do chest and I feel good, I'm going to put some serious weight on and see what happens. I'm betting I'll get 375-400.
Im telling u... every arm wrestling person I know has horrible issues afterwards. I never looked up vids to share... but watching arms come apart at the elbow is so common.

Squats are moving up nicely
Clean moving up nicely
Dead moving up slowly
Getting bigger for sure though at 245 now. Actually have a little arms starting....ha
