I sent him a pm like I said and I was a bit of an ass in it, which I don't want to be.. I want to settle it amicably but I am not a richy rich kid, I honestly barely have any money and this seriously might set my build back 6 months to a year if I don't get compensated.
Not to mention my car is already halfway apart

Dont worry about the carbon on the pistons as that is all it is. He wrapped the motor great and oiled it, no rust built up in the past 8 months I've had it because it wasn't unwrapped til today... but the bearings and cylinders are just garbage

yea me too, I'm debating a couple different options.. but I really want to hear from the seller first.. the pistons, rods, crank are fine but like i said this block may be no good on at least one of the cylinders.
I refuse to go more than 40 over so then i will need a new block and then that will mean I will need an extra $12-1400 for the work and parts for the block
Not trying to stir the pot here, but why did you wait 8 months to unwrap the engine? That's something that should have been checked when it was first received. Again, not trying to be a dick, I'm just curious...
None the less, that sucks. I hope you get everything worked out.
I understand what you mean, but the motor was wrapped airtight and oiled so no rust formed on it. I didn't have the time/money to do the build at the time so we figured we would just keep it wrapped so that no oxidation occurred.Quote:

hey man, if interested i got a short block at my parents house (Fastbirds old motor) and its been just sitting there since i got the the block. i would be more then willing to pass it off to you for the same price i got it for. PM me if interested.

Thankfully I just talked to the seller and he is understanding but is going to inspect his pics that he sent me months ago to see what I "knew" when I bought it.
I obviously knew of literally none of this stuff and I still have each and every one of the pics he sent me (in fact, most of them are posted in the beginning of this thread).
I clearly don't expect the entire purchase price back but I need to be made right.
