[QUOTE=firebird_1995;293873]Yea there has just been too many setbacks to make it. We might bring dads camaro again to see if we can lean it out a little.
Sounds good, remember we are giving all LTXTech members half price pulls. $30 for three pulls.

Little update....
Got the engine back and today after work I had a small energy burst, (alcohol induced) and decided to get a jump on this weekends goal. I have the oil pump and windage tray mounted. Also stabbed in the cam and put the timing chain on. I slipped the tc cover on without the gasket and there are no clearance issues. Goal is to have it all sealed up, painted, and ready to install tomorrow.

Got a little done on the engine today. Cleaned and installed the oil pan, head studs (very time consuming), heads, lifters, and front timing chain covers.
I guess I'm going to have to get a keyed crank hub. I wasn't thinking when I installed the crank sprocket. The woodruff key extends beyond the gear. The hub installs all the way up to the gear. I guess I should have ground it down flush with the sprocket. Oh well, probably need a keyed crank for driving the sc anyways. Also need to pick up a neutral balanced flexplate. Im going to get some more parts and try to have the engine ready to install by next sunday.

Well I installed the lifters and a pair of rocker arms and was checking the pushrod length when as I was rotating the crank I heard a thunk. Sounded metal to metal and kind of hollow like the oil pan. First thing that came to mind was the rods hitting the oil pan. So I pulled off the freshly rtv'd oil pan, destroyed the gasket, and found the rod was no where near the oil pan. Took a look in the #2 hole (where the twisted rod was replaced and seen the piston was all up in the cylinder heads crevices. Pulled the head off and sure as shit, the piston was out of the hole. The machine shop who my entire family had went to for decades had replaced my 5.7 rod with a 6.......
So I called Monday and the guy confirmed my suspicious, one of the employees who he had hired to help with all the new business had dropped the ball yet again. He is going to replace the rod, oil pan gasket, and head gasket. All in all, a pretty big setback and disappointment.
Today I removed the old fuel tank and took measurements for new fuel line. I also modified the frame for clearance of the low mount alternator.

Wednesday I hope to get the new fuel tank, pump and lines ran. I'm probably going to relocate the battery into the trunk while I'm at it.
Ok...at this point. The owner owes u something.

Sorry you have hit yet another setback. That definitely puts dyno day out the window.
You know how great it is to see a member assembling his own ride though?!?!?! Some folks just like to do a lot of talk, stroke the pen in the checkbook and let someone else build a bad*ss ride for them.
Well I'm still hoping to have it ready by then. If it looks like its going to be close I might take a day off to get it done.
So I took a day off from work today to get some things done (eye exam and visit a chiropractor for some advise on the back injury, but mostly for my engine). Got my rod situation lined out, I'm satisfied with how he handled it. Oil pan and head is back on and I installed the rockers and push rods. After my appointments I will prime the oil pump and put the intake on....
