Just a range toy, hoping to maybe get invited to hunt in PA but really just wanted something more powerful than my 5.56 guns.
So far, love the SWFA, gotta learn mils but its a nice piece of glass. Installed a new bolt handle on it last night and have a new trigger spring coming this week to tackle the factory garbage.

Right on. Should be a fun toy for sure. Glad to hear your glass is nice. I considered one, but went with an Athlon. I thought I'd end up hunting with my RPR but decided against it. Not going to happen on our farm, anyway.
I use a ballistic calculator to get me in the ballpark and then adjust with this chart. With a little spotting and adjustments, it works. I need to get a chronograph and get some hard data put in the ballistic calculator, though. I also need to get some good no-wind base data logged in my dope book. Only time I've went out to 900 and 1000 we had a 15-20 mph cross and head wind. 900 couldn't have went better for the first time. The extra 100 yards to 1000 was much more difficult but I still managed a satisfactory amount of hits on a 24" circle plate. Think I was holding roughly 30' elevation and anywhere from 6'-8' windage. Hell of a time. My buddy even managed a few hits with his budget 6.5 Grendel on an AR platform.
