Still waiting to hear back from the powdercoater, had my 3rd out of 4 finals today... one more (and my hardest) on Friday then time to beat the shit out of this motor one last time and tear it apart :)..
She's done me well I must admit.. bought her with 116k miles and she now has about 154k on her and I never had a major problem... I will miss her lopeyness sigh
Out with the old in with the new I suppose.. maybe I'll keep her around for a forged 383

Cool! Get video of her blowing up!

lalala.... last final in T-minus 6 hours... then finish my list of things that will need to be done to the car then hopefully bring it to my buddy and start tearing it apart.. I hope to have the motor dropped tomorrow night but that's if he wants to start tomorrow, if not, then on saturday

Talked to my buddy and I'm bringing the car in tomorrow morning not today as planned...
on another note, I'm pretty sure I just bombed my last final lol

Sigh bad day today...
I woke up a little late and brought the car over. Well my friend got bit by a spider (most likely a brown recluse) And is attempting to recover from that right now. On top of that I started to feel like trash so we decided to postpone the teardown until monday morning.
Sure enough, I get home from his place and I take a shower and throw up multiple times. Hopefully this is nothing more serious than a stomache bug but I've felt like trash all day today and haven't eaten anything because I don't want to throw it up. When I did puke I just threw up the bottle of propel i had this morning, I literally had nothing else in me except for some pill supplements (Which may actually be the reason why I got sick because I hadn't eaten anything with them).
So for now Im just kinda laying around the apartment and sipping on water. sigh :(

Well got the exhaust and tranny off today..
Interesting thing about the trans and I will admit Fastbird told me so a couple years ago.
Ok so I did my clutch myself a few years back (spec 2) and got the flywheel resurfaced but never shimmed it out.. had horrible chatter blah blah blah. Well while trying to trace down ym 2nd gear grind we replaced the clutch disk (spec 2) and put in a spec billet steel flywheel. Got rid of the chatter but yea.
Well when we took the clutch out today there were 2 rings ground around the casing of the pressure plate (was reused from the first spec i put in). We found nothing it couldve ground on but anyways.. we take out the disk and on one side it was only being used on the outside 1/4 inch of the clutch material and the other side it was being used on about 75% of the material so the clutch disk is like basically brand new lol.
The pressure plate must just be garbage and I shouldve replaced it when Sean warned me (my bad sir). Flywheel has a couple hotspots but nothing bad at all and I will have that and the disk up for sale when I get back from NY in early June and I take pics. My pacesetters are pretty banged up (I know there were some people asking me about buying them) but likewise, I will take pics of everything when I get back and hold a sale thread.
Don't worry I am not going to advertise the clutch disk as new or anything, it has about 10,000-15,000 miles on it but you wouldn't guess it from looking at it lol. The disk will be sold fairly cheap (The disk alone is 250 brand new through spec... I will sell this for about 75$)
The billet steel flywheel was 350$ brand new through spec and I will sell that for around 150$ (Like I said I would suggest a resurfacing and shimming your clutch out but my car never slipped on me and that is even with a half performing clutch).
I will probably let the pacesetters go for around 100$ because of the condition they are in (They are coated but well.. you'll see lol)
On another note I got my intake and fuel rails back from powdercoating and they look incredible. Just a gloss black on the rails and a cool crinkle type dark grey on the manifold. There are a couple spots that bubbled on the manifold that worry me after it gets heat put to it but hopefully it will be okay.
Sorry I don't have any pics, I'm actually still covered in oil right now and I never took the time to grab my phone to take any pics so everything will have to wait until I get back from NY. I might be able to get my friend to take pics while the rest of the install occurs though... just sad I can't be here to help out and see it on its way.

WOW I GOT FUCKED
Bought the shortblock from camarossguy2 on Cz28 and was told it had about 8000 miles on it. Talked to him on aim about it a bunch and he mentioned that it had no blowby, no problems with it etc etc. This stuff is not just "puffing" to sell a motor, these are factual statements that only he was in the position to make and there was no way for me to have discovered this stuff.
Talked to my builder today and it was the first time the motor was unwrapped since it was shipped.
(11:46 AM): cyls are all scratched up bad
(11:46 AM): lifter bores are scratched
(11:47 AM): balancer has spun on the crank broken key still in it
(11:47 AM): cam bearings are hosed
(11:54 AM): all 8 bores are scored up a cpl real bad
(11:55 AM): i doubt it can be bored and honed.....be cheaper to start with a fresh block
I am severely not pleased and I will not let this go, I paid over $2000 for this and I got absolutely screwed.

Time for a head-hunting party? That really sucks man, have you been in contact with him since this discovery?
-
I just found out today, i sent him a pm and he isnt on aim right now so yea

Damn dude that sucks. Hope your luck turns around. I absolutly HATE when people rip others off. Its stealing plain and simple and they should be taken care off.
