When me and my dad did CPR on that guy that was working on his house the EMTs said there are no rescue breaths given anymore, just compressions. That was in 2011 I believe. We were doing it the old way.
Dad was doing the breathing, I was doing compressions
I looked into it later and the reason they stopped teaching to give breaths is because the most important thing was to get oxygen to the brain and the only way to get it there is by pumping the heart. While pumping the chest, naturally you are pumping the lungs too and they will get air like that. No need to stop compressions.
Wife and I had an experience like that a few Labor Days ago in Virginia Beach. Dumb ass racing his Viper against a WRX, shifted, lost control, jumped the curb, threw this guy 20 feet down the road. We were two cars behind the Viper coming back from the park and I said to her, "Those two are about to race."

For those at this years Shootout, you may recognize the G-Lock t-shirt :D
Ive taken many different first responder and CPR classes... as long as they are current, they are all the same.
Stuff is changing every year.....
I think he means the actual techniques and education behind it are constantly changing. Yes...2 years for an EXPIRATION date on the card.
YOU are 100% correct. In fact, there is no stopping with the compressions anymore... no need to count... nothing... just straight arm, and PUMP!
correctamundo!
@gojo83 Is it just me and not knowing where to look, or is it just about impossible to find any aftermarket shit for a 1992 Chevrolet Lumina Euro 3.4L? I can't find a single aftermarket upgrade for this damn car lol. Guessing any CAI would have to be custom made, no headers at all, can't even find an exhaust for it. Let alone suspension or any aftermarket wheels that will fit it.
If you'd have seen the hit you may have understood. Personally if I had taken the hit myself not sure id be able to finish the game like he did. He's a tough dude last time he "got the wind knocked out of him" it turned out to be a punctured lung and he finished that game too.lol.... Really good game not the same boys as last year.
I see it the other way. Ou don't know how long it'll last so I like bragging while I can lol.
I don't really care if we win another game I'm just glad we broke Eli's winning streak in our new stadium lol.

Don't quote me on this but I think it wouldn't take much to convert grand am headers to fit. There is also the 3.4 /3.5 hybrid. Its a 3.4 block and 3.5 and I wanna say 3.5 intake also. Or u could look for the holy grail of exhausts the turbo grand Prix of the same era. Grand am websites or forums would be ur best bet for mechanical aspects. Its been 8 yrs since I dealt with a 3.4 or grand am so I may be wrong. Its a bit fuzzy still. Beware tuning will be a nightmare on a car that old. Also the trans is not known to be super strong. Give me a shout if u want this weekend. If u port the top end I have been told they gain reasonable power but not trans am or sc 3.8 power levels. Hope this helps some.
