U mean cause the plug is turned and not letting the line stay square with the axle tube? If so, I dont see it as an issue.

finally got this junk pile back together again. spohn chromoly driveshaft installed, 9" from @popo8 installed, brakes bled, moved out under its own power, hosed off and took for a ride. some little things to do stillhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c6306f4351.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b9e107af8a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7c628e3bfb.jpg

I wanna see results!!!!
So, turns out the car wasnt banging the limiter, it was shifting exactly when commanded. Spark was blowing out. running a bkr6e at .035 to try to stop fouling on street. well that has been causing spark blow out with the og delco opti and stock ignition system. scrambled to regap plugs to .027ish last night. set shift to 5700 to try to keep it from breaking up.
-5700rpm shift point
-275/40/17 et street r at 21psi
-11psi was seen at 5700rpm
-left on idle at half throttle, punched it at the 60ft, left lane
1 pass and track said no no (11.49 and quicker needs a roll bar)
i just want to thank everyone that has helped us over the years. yeah the car is fast, but never really knew how fast it was. i think its got a 10 in it. its still a street car through and through. but damn, its a freight train up top

Ok there's more info here than you gave me on FB. Get an Ignition Box on the car (I had an Accel 300+ on my turbo car and it was fine......the Accel is a nice unit), raise the shift points back up, and yeah, there's 10's there if you can get it out of the hole.
I don't believe that for a second. You realize how many LTx Fourth Gens have been run over the years without issue with an ignition box on them? Both cars I owned ALWAYS ran better with the box on the car.
I ran an MSD 6AL box for years, with an MSD coil, no issues. What do you think of those tires?
My camaro ran a simple 6al... once I had the delco opti on there, it was never an issue. I'm with @Fastbird on the ignition box... but I told u that in our other convo.

6al on the way, along with a few other little things. and this black metal hoopity doop thingy is in process to be installed. really dont want to drop the tank, but i guess we gotta. would like to make cecil or island in a few weeks and get some good runs before a track rental we are trying to attend. nothing like last minute for me and the old guy, its our normal.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b835455564.jpg

I always had it up on the strut tower right behind the fuse box.
Believe it or not... this is the only pic that partially shows it there... lolhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...96ef070345.jpg

Mine was in the trunk for the longest time when I was NA
That's with factory lines in the OEM location. It fits. I don't have a picture but the purple T/A had one sitting right there bolted in when I bought the car.
Pic I stole. The lines go right over the top of it.

Oh, interesting. Didn't know they made them bigger. I couldn't find a pic of my old setup because I had the Accel 300+ box mounted UNDER the fuse box because it was so small.
bout as ready as we are gonna be for the rental on monday. have to get the rollbar padding in, finish wiring msd box, and reinstall exhausthttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f590240b8e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9da8f983a8.jpg

Have you tested it up high under load with the new ignition yet? I'd at least get a couple of quick rips in just to make sure it's all good.

Hope it's nice for you today! We're getting snow here in NE IN. Updates man! We need updates!
Today was a good day I think
Holy shit roller coaster of a day. long post alert.
last night car started overheating 2 mins after idling. guess the brand new 6 month old rad cap quit. @Ltconvert changed that before putting it on trailer.
first pass off the trailer was 10.94 at 128mph, 21psi in the et street r's. second pass was quicker at 10.88 same everything. third pass 10.94 same everything. shifting at 5700rpm. we are new to drag racing, i am new to it as a driver, not gonna lie. since everything was going the right direction we decided to put the tune on kill and see what happens.
I proceeded to raise shift points to 6500rpm, limiter to 7k, figuring everything is running right and the msd box seems to be doing the trick. proceeded to run 11.2x with the car breaking up right at the shift 1-2 and 2-3.
immediately came back to pits and reflashed with a 6000rpm shift point tune, same everything else, and go back to 10.92https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a9fb9a5966.jpg no spark blowout/breaking up shit. reviewed datalog and car is shifting 250rpm after commanded shift point, which imho a built cahall 4l60e is doing its job correctly with 11-12psi of boost and a heavy car hitting it.
made another 10.92 pass and hotlapped it back. tried to leave harder and went fastest at 10.87 proceeding to blow the passenger side header gasket at cylinders 2 and 4.
The car surprised the shit out of me and osie today. i really didnt realize how fast it is. i know 10.87 at 126mph may not seem all that quick, but for us, it means alot after all this thing (and the multiple other lt1's ive built) have put us thru.
After reviewing the datalogs, i am seeing pcm showing battery voltage dropping significantly from 13.2v to 11.5v by end of run. this car always always since way back in the heads cam days of 2013 ran 13.2ish volts on the pcm logs. alternator has been changed multiple times (even to a 200amp), heavy duty battery cables installed, extra grounds, pcm, list goes on. I am thinking this voltage drop is causing the spark issues we are having, because even with the msd box it doesnt have enough, it just moved up in the rpm range.
I want to thank everyone on this forum for all the help over the years getting it where it is. now we got the bug and we wanna go faster. great event today @blackbirdws6. great seeing everyone. i need a beer.
Ill post the vid links in a separate post.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8425a869c6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bccc4d2640.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a3a39d4aef.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...75c9f774b0.jpg

Congrats!
Car leaves smooth and pretty much drama free
(check to make sure you are spinning alternator at correct RPM)
