Thanks. I'd love to stay true to the platform, but it comes down to money at this point. I can probably make about the same power, if not more, with a cam only 5.3 than my cammed 355 with mild/stock valved heads and ported intake will make. I have $0 into the 5.3 and a pile of cash in the LT1 that I can get some of it back to cover the cost of swap parts/headers/etc. I'm a spreadsheet guy so I'm literally weighing out my options, cell by cell. Haha.

Stay tuned for more updates! Fingers crossed it's not a nightmare.

Not at this time. It would honestly depend on the direction of the car, though.

Looking for one for the Camaro? The mild steel setups are cheap, but this is moly and has nice options already.

Well no good pictures or anything. Still yanking parts off the car to sell. BUT... Bought quite a few parts lately.

LS Kmember
Motor mounts (clam shells, poly bushings are next)
Ls1 bare intake
Ls1 TB
Ls1 harmonic balancer
LS1 steam tube
243s
Brand new Pacesetters and TSP Y

Found some ls1 fuel rails in my pile, gonna reuse my injectors (red tops).

Starting specing out cams and I we are looking into one that may require fly cutting....still on the fence about it.

Really only need the following at this point to make the swap happen:
- oil pan setup (new is like 300)
- cam/valvetrain
- hardware kit
- accessories (ls1)
- sensors
- 99-02 auto fbody harness

Then it's just nickel and dime. Exciting times.

So I knocked quite a bit off my "to-buy" list. Bought the oil pan setup, hardware kit, 2002 ls1 fbody harness, as well as new lifters and misc sensors.

The only thing I need to buy at this point is a serpentine setup for an LS1, minus the A/C and balancer, as well as the cam/springs/timing set. I have some feelers on Facebook but haven't reached out too far yet. Also, the 243s were a little dirty, so they will be sent out and cleaned up Still unsure if the cam I want to run will have enough clearance with the 5.3 and 243s. Also my stall speed and gears are on the low end also, so there may be changes down the road. We'll see.

Anyone who follows the DFR youtube page will see my car and motor in the background very often. Haha.
