That's what I use as well. Only testimony I have is it does a fair amount of damage to fruit.

Don't get a Taurus. Don't get anything below 9mm, IMO. Some good ones are: LC9, if she's interested in a wheel gun then maybe a LCR. Others are the XD, Sig 238 and of course Glock 19 or 43. Wife carries a 19 one and loves it. She felt the most comfortable working the slide. If she's going to carry in her purse she needs to either get a purse that has provisions for a gun, or get a holster that secures to the purse. Very dangerous to carry a gun rattling around in a purse especially if the gun only has a trigger safety.

i carry a xds .45 also comes in a 9mm. It's very controllable mite want to add that in to the mix

Plus the xds in 9mm is currently on sale for 389 at rural king. (rkguns.com)

The new xds mod 2 has a nice grip too!

I have my sig loaded with Hydra shocks, it was the only thing in stock locally. The 40 has Winchester pdx1 defenders. I'm using a blade tech eclipse iwb/owb for my sig. I'm a fluffier dude and I think I may get away with a crossbreed hybrid holster, but the blade tech is rather uncomfortable in iwb.
