You know a gun is great when it reachrs cult syatus and develops "haters" who look for reasons to trash it.

Glock, rem 870, rem 700, 10/22, etc.

Im not saying the criticisms are wrong but those guns are revered for a reason and theyre all a solid buy.

My kids and I are thoroughly enjoying the 10/22. I am not sure if it can shoot a fly's ass off at 100 paces, but none of us are marksman anyway and couldn't care less. My first rifle was a Marlin tube fed. That thing was never cleaned and it never misfired.

Oh, if I haven't said it lately, ALL GUNS SHOULD BE GLAWKS AND ALL GLAWKS SHOULD BE 9mm!!!

That's the point.

The 10/22 is consistently rated as one of if not the best .22 available and a bargain still at 229.

Any criticism of it should be taken at face value and used to show that other companies are FINALLY getting closer to closing the gap between it and the others.

As far as the Marlin, I loved the one I owned for 20+ years. I could shoot at and hit damn near anything I wanted with it and 18 rounds was enough for us.

Yup, mine will hit 3inch steel at 100paces all day and its never had a gun related issue. And idk how you could call it heavy...?

It weighs in at almost exactly 5 lbs. with a full wood stock.

My Marlin Model 60 weighed 5.5.

ruger list is 309
Its hardly the best 22 lol. like stated budget and reliable thats it. For most thats all it needs to do.

There are and were many guns over and underrated

I see your point but using certain models is silly.
