short update, the .088 jet is in for around 250ish hp of nitrous, along with a 0.064 fuel jet. been trying to go to the track but life has been getting in the way. fiance's job now has her working Sundays starting this weekend, so that threw a wrench into it.
I also forgot to switch the car over to distilled water/water wetter [emoji102] so gotta do that this week. Gonna try for Saturday tnt but weather aint looking great.

gonna try for this sunday at island again. probably will only be running to the eighth to not get yelled at too much, dial in the timing and fuel with the new jetting. also finally switched the car over to water lol.
and yes i fixed the driver side tail light, the socket was broke but looked fine.
Island has had live feeds on Facebook on the weekends….. was waiting to see the shiny green Formula, but most of the stuff was retro, nostalgia, etc.
I saw they were celebrating 65 years since the track opened. I was there in 1960 just after it opened. Buddy had a 1958 Impala 2 dr hardtop, with a 348 “big block” (the one with the kidney shaped valve covers), 3x2 bbls, and 3-on-the tree. Ran it a couple passes, don’t remember how fast. Couple months later he bought a brand new 1960 Corvette, top of the line 283 fuelie, solid lifter cam. He says “let’s go to Island”. OK, we drive from Morristown up to Island, but he drives past the entrance. His family had a summer house at Mountain Lake, just up the road. He drops the ‘vette off, takes his dad's beater, and we go to Island and sit in the stands…… he didn't want the ‘vette to get covered with dust……

Funny story, didn't want to get it dusty! But I suppose he payed big money for it. It also reminded me that my brother had a '58 Impala for a while around '69 or '70. It was a coupe w/348 Carter 4 barrel, 3 speed with a Indy shifter cut into the floor. It was a turd(side swipe damage on one side, the rest of the car looked great) but drove and rode good. IIRC it lost the timing chain and jumped timing and bent some valves. Some guys bought it from him with intentions of doing the body work and dropping a 409 in it.Quote:
