A stock auto shifter from an old fbod is way cheaper than a quarter stick etc.
Stock length DS works with an 80e
You already have the PCM to run it, and have the ability to tune it...
IDK.

You get a custom 'verter to your specs and its all brand new.
Ryan, I have a th350 in the Monte and I hate it. 3000 cruise rpm with 3.73 gears and 26" tire. I just bought an 80e. Going with the popular hd2 kit to bring it up to 750hp capable. Only downside I see to these (other than the additional weight, which I think will be shed in the aftermarket converter) is the price of available quality converters.
Sweet. Might have to call jake and see if there's a deal on a level 3. Hmmm

Ok @firebird_1995 and @shownomercy . Called jake.
TH400-$2250
4L80e-$2700
Both include shipping and stuff to make my speedo work. The 80 can use my driveshaft and a stock shifter (saves about $550), the converter is $850.
TH400 is gonna need a driveshaft, and shifter but my buddy has a converter for it.
Decisions decisions...

With that close of a price, 80e.
You will not regret maintaining some form of OD.
Your gonna miss that overdrive
