never really been a fan of the USA top gear, just didn't do it for me when we had UK top gear to watch, maybe its time to give it another shot.
side note: UK top gear will be coming back with Matt Leblanc and some other dude as hosts. looks like they are trying to hard to be like Clarkson Hammond and May to me.

Chris Harris is a part of the "new" UKTG, which sucks because i think he's a great auto-journalist but I won't watch the new one based off principal. As much as they try, it's not going to be Top Gear. The good news is that the REAL top gear will be back (probably with a new name) and will be on Amazon Video when it starts i believe. Clarkson, Hammond, and May are all supposed to be on it.
The US one isn't as good as the real UKTG one but it's still watchable if you're not trying to compare it to the original. I think it would be better if they made up their own format and shows rather than copying old UK episodes to the T with different cars. I will pretty much watch anything car related if it's on TV because even terrible car shows are better than normal programming.
I always found ustg better, I always got bored with the UK and their constant USA condescending comments.
They actually go and do stuff that's more relatable to me.
Didnt realize my dvr recorded 2 new episodes. Just watched the 2nd one 2nite. Better than the 4x4 one.

I always liked the us version better. never liked the snobby brits anyways. they tried runnin it like the UK version but then started breaking away from that before the hiatus. I don't really see brits goin and drivin lifted American trucks thru crap like the us version does. and the US guys are more my speed and sense of humor... plus I'm usually drunk when I'm watchin it.
I think them always bashing on american sports cars was funny, and they weren't wrong in their claims. Until the last 10 years they were pretty much terrible cars with good motors shoehorned in. I think with time the US one will get better, the UK one was on for 22 seasons before they killed it, that's a long time to get the chemistry of the hosts right. I think Adam could be replaced with someone better, Chris Harris for example since he's the only good one from the new group of hosts.

yeah the UK version did a bunch of episode with offroading and trucks.... I think what made the UK version better was the chemistry the hosts had and it didn't seem as scripted as the US version to me. I haven't seen the US version in a couple years so I don't know what is like now though

They were on 22 seasons and there was outrage when they were canned until they got picked back up, I think it's safe to say they got it pretty well lol. Different strokes, Different folks. To me reviews of cars we all have is pretty boring, because we already have them. Some people can take more poking fun at things than others, I can see how some people now a days couldn't handle that.

And once again, Adam was terrible. I don't think I've ever met a "car guy" with not a single clue on any aspect of cars other than "just don't crash, just don't crash, just don't crash" and even my wife commented on how terrible his racing lines were lol. 900hp yowzas!!!! They had lots of good to say about the Camaro, would have been nice to see someone who could drive piloting it.
2nites episode was kinda lame. The mail truck replacement episode tests were just ridiculous... although I did like the 3000gt with the matching trailer.

And as much as i liked Tanner, he was almost TOO good of a driver to compete with 'normal' car guys in driving contests.
there were times it was suprising to watch Rut drive. he could handle a car fairly well for wearing skinny jeans hahahaha
