Wanting to go solid roller

Hey guys i am building a 383 lt1. My forged rotating assembly came in the mail today and its a 40 over bore with mahle two valve relif flat tops. My heads are ported factory and been milled .0010. dont really know what compression that will make it.But i was wanting to go with a solid roller setup. I have my crower solid roller lifters alredy and i was just wanting to know if anybody knew where i could get a solid lift cam for a lt1. And if anybody had any suggestions on what size would be helpful. It is a M6 car with 4.10 gears. It will be on the track 99% of the time so drivability isnt a big concern. And i will be doing my own tuning. Thanks for any help.

Talk to one of the Tech Support guys at the cam company of your choice, like CompCams. CompCams is the premier cam company in the U.S., even Harvey Crane said so in a magazine interview.

Any of them will want to know a lot of information about your engine and its intended use, so get all the specs together before you call.

I run a solid roller setup on one of my engines and I love it. The cam manufacturer will want to know your compression to help get the proper cam designed and built. You didn't say if you had your block decked but you'll need to know how far down in the hole the pistons are. A machinists straiget edge and feeler gauges will tell you that. The head gasket thickness will also have to be known.

Headflow and a lot of other things will help to get the right profile for your engine. My solid roller is kinda sorta for a daily driver and it does a great job. 240/252 duration @.050, 110 LSA and around .640/.620 lift. The power is still climbing at 7200. You'll want to also be careful of the opti rotor at those RPM's. It can easily turn into a grenade and ruin your whole race day. I will be going solid roller here soon aswell! You can talk to Rob at Advanaced Inductions, or Lloyd Elliot and he can do a custom grind solid roller.

Ok thanks. The block hasnt been milled just the heads. I will call around and see what they can tell me and get an idea on my valve springs while im at it.

I recently swapped over to a solid roller and the results are phenomenal. Give Larry @ Speed Inc a call, he loves talking about engine set ups.

I was running a solid roller in my gen 1 small block in a 72 ventura with single chamber 3 inch mufflers and it had a very wild sound and it performed very well up top. I wish i could transfer the springs from the heads i have for it. They are isky double springs with 490lbs pressure. But they seem to have played havak on my pushrods and lifters.

Whats the outer diameter of the outer spring? And the inner diameter of the inner spring? I run double comp springs without any modifiycation and without having the spring pockets cut.
