CAST OR ALUMINUM HEADS?????????

ok the time old question.


i have the stock heads CAST.

i'm gonna have the heads gasket matched (basic porting) the heads and the intake. BUT should i really move to the ALUM heads? are they really worth it.

the porting my machinist doesnt care cst or aluminum. so the cost there isnt an issue.


any thoughts

It "should" be cheaper to do anything to the aluminum heads. I don't see how anyone would charge the same price. It takes an easy 4-5 times as long to do anything to an iron head. Yes you should move to aluminum heads. Are you talking about iron LT1 heads vs Aluminum LT1 heads? LT1 heads can be found very cheap.
