exhaust?

alright.. so i was drivin my car. it has ALL brand new gaskets in my engine. :metal: good thing right? ugh no... i was drivin and i started to hear this tick.. and its the exhaust commin right off the head (the header gasket) it is the last cylinder on the passenger side.. i have BBK shorty headers. i used those gaskets that came with those. whats the easiest and cheapest way to fix this?? and what kind of gasket would you guys buy?? thanks

I just used some new stock gaskets when my paper pacesetters let go, but a lot of use aftermarket aluminum/copper gaskets with success.

yeah i want a copper gasket where can i get that at? and also what bolts do you recomend?

Percy gaskets are good, most of us use Fel-Pro. My guess is you didn't tighten the header bolts enough. They take 30 ft. lb. (I know you can't get a torque wrench on there, but you have to crank them down pretty hard).

I use the copper head gaskets but I can't remember what brand. I also reccomend the header bolts with the 3/8" head. It allows you to use a closed end wrench on a few more bolts.:D

Mr. Gasket 5903's with some ARP bolts and you'll be good to go.

if i tighten them any more they will break lol they are really really tight. i used the 3/8 bolts that came with the headers. they where really short. they dont go in the head but prolly a half inch or so.

When you get the new gaskets on, after a few heat cycles go over the bolts again.
