No need to clip anything. Unplug the pump and remove it.
Perhaps a pic of what you're speaking of.
here you go man this will help you. I know it did me.

do i need to unplug it right by the pump, and then the wires go up somewhere by the maf, does that get unplugged as well?
Good link R3DLT1, thanks for sharing.
It looks like the wires go up to a solenoid mounted to the side of the intake or somewhere else. Surprisingly my LT1 that I bought didn't have the AIR pump on it.
got it today, didnt realize the whole selonoid came off, was just being cautious and didnt want to rip something off without knowing what i was doing. its all good now, just one last piece of pipe i have to get out of there, but it wraps under the timing cover and doesnt want to come out. i chopped a piece off but a piece still keeps hitting. didnt feel like screwing around with it anymore so im letting it sit the weekend.
i know its an old thread, but im removing my air to and wondering what to do with the solenoid. did you end up removing it? once the pump is gone, theres no reason for the solenoid right? also what did you do with the harnesses? just cut them off and tape them up?
