amp?

ok so i have 2 12" infinity perfect series subs, and i have 1 one, rockford fosgate amp that is a 2 channel it is the " p3002" i have it hooked up to both subs.. and when i but the "setting on my radio to one side of the car. say the right side of the car, the 1 sub is louder than when i have the "fade" in the middle so both subs go. so pretty much one sub is louder than both, does this mean i have to weak of a amp for both????


and another question is can i buy the same exact amp the rockford fosgate "p3002" and hook it up to the other amp? like bridge it? so it has enough for both speakers? :hmm:

if you are adjusting the balance from right to left, it will limit the voltage coming out of the pre-outs in the back of the deck, thus giving your amp less signal to amplify. so, if you adjust the balance all the way to the right, it will make the left sub weaker.

this is all assuming you have everything wired up to the amp for a stereo setup rather than mono, and is normal.

you can buy a second amp, and power each woofer off of it's own amp. probably not necessary. depending on what ohm load your amp can handle, you can also wire your subs differently (like in parallel or series) that can alter the power requirements and impedance load. especially since these are DVC subs. if your amp can handle a 1 ohm load, you can easily get 2 4 ohm DVC subs down to that by wiring them in parallel and this will get some more power out of your amp. kid's dont try this at home unless your amp can handle a 1 ohm load!

i know it makes the left sub weaker when i make it more too the right.. BUT it makes the right sub louder than when BOTH are on

possibly because the amp is now getting less voltage to the left one, thus increasing its efficiency to the right one since it is not using as much of it's stored dynamic (peak) power to push both subs.

think about it this way...an amp relies on low voltage input signal (line in from the deck) and power from a power source (your car's battery) to make an output power. you have a 2 channel amp that is using one power supply, which is fed by the wire coming from your car's battery. if you shut down one of those channels by shutting off it's line input, the amp now has that much more power to designate to the other channel from its power supply. more power in = more power out. also, the way you have these things wired can play a huge role in that and the efficiency of your system.
