Is there a law on how wide of a rim/tire you need to have on the front of the car ? i was looking at some skinnies and for the 4" wide ones it says "for off road use only"

not legal if it says off road use only....but i have never heared of anyone getting a ticket for having them
4'' wide is the minimum a passender car is supposed to be for safety

some wheel manufactuers will say"fro off road use only" to keep them out of court. some wheels are just too light to endure street driving. potholes manhole covers etc. will beat these rims to death.
side note i have driven 15X3.5 wheels cross country with no problems but i did have a very durable metric radial tire.

i DD'd on a 3.5 for a year and then got a 4" bc they sit in further, then i got bogarts... riddle me this, if a rim cant take a small pothole, how the hell do they expect it to take the abuse from years of wheel stands? the trick is you are NOT supposed to run a radial tire up front on anything that skinny... ALL wheel manufactures say so, it just plain puts too much stress bacause a bias ply will take sock load a bit better
