whats the best thing to use to wax a black car with?
The biggest thing with any detail is the prep work you do first. The real key is minimizing swirls, and removing contaminates (Iron removers/claybar). Wax is the last step (well second to last if you use a detail spray). I never really bought into the color specific wax or super high dollar wax being better. My personal favorite is Chemicals guys Petes 53 because its super easy to put on and remove, plus it smells pretty good. Dodo juice is also a good brand for waxes. This being said Wax preference is highly subjective as are most products in detailing. I honestly don't use much wax anymore since I started using carpro reload. It will give you better protection and the same pop as wax, but uses silicon dioxide which is a form of ceramic coating. You apply it as you would a typical spray sealant. Spray on the towel, then do a cross hatch pattern with the towel to ensure complete coverage, then buff off.Quote:

If you're looking for an off the shelf product Meguiar's and Griots waxes are pretty good and can be purchased at autozone (Griots is the harder one to find Megs is everywhere).
