WTB LT1 heads
would rather have 643/374 castings but interested in 561 castings also.
let me know what casting #'s you have, what condition they are in (no crack, no stripped spark plug thread, etc) and what you want for them.

Lloyd I have 1 single 561 stock head with no problems with threads etc. Would u be interested?

the thing with cast iron haeds is that you hav eto pull press in studs, machine for screw in studs and guide plates, machine pushrod passages for clearance with 1.6 rockers and higher lift cams, machine down the valve guide seal bosses for retainer to seal clearance, etc, etc. All of this adds up to $250-300 in machione work. The alu heads are lighter, have a smaller chamber and do not need any of this machine work.
Then you have portwork, valve job, milling, cleaning and assembling the heads ($600-700) and what ever valves and springs we use ($100-600).
It can add up pretty quick doing cast iron heads

man, I do not need a single 561. If I had a single here I would be interested but I do not.

@NightTrain66 since they flow more to start with ... will the end result have better flow as well?

cast iron heads start off about 10 CFM better but end up about 10-15 CFM below what you can get from a set of ported alu LT1 heads.

ah ... i didnt know that ... good to know ... since i am doing a nitrous build (250+ shot) what would be better ... seems like that the iron would be stronger
