LT4 383 build questions
Im building a 383 for my 95 Z28 M6 so far the parts i have are:
LT4 block
Callies forged rods
Callies forged Crank
Edelbrock RPM Xterem 195cc heads
Edelbrock Air Gap intake
Edelbrock 58mm throttle body
SLP mid lenght headers
MSD billet Opti
MSD 8.6 wires
MSD coil
CAI
Custom grind cam Intake Duration 244 Exhaust Duration 252 at .050 lifter rise
Underdrive pulley
Im unsure what compressin ratio to run I was think 11.5:1
and im also unsure of what size injectors i should get. Also i dont know if i should run this cam for i should go smaller.
I want to be 400-450 rwhp with the car

If the flow numbers on those heads are legit and not inflated then they would be alright.
I would ditch the mids for long tubes and get rid of the MSD opti in favor of a Delco.
That cam is freakin huge... like solid roller huge. What are the lift and lobe separation specs?
-
That cam is huge whether to use it or get something smaller depends on other factors.
Auto or manual trans? If auto how big a stall? Rear gear? tire diameter? race weight?
Track only or street/strip? How much street?

That cam is not that big for 383. I would run it. 36 to 42lb injectors be fine with 450 rwhp. I would run as close to 12.1 compression as I could get. I would run 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8 headers. The mid lengths gona choke it down. If your wanting 450 rwhp then id ditch those heads. There probly the worst after market head you can buy. If you set on running them. Then get them ported. Also I would return the intake and get you $ back. Its no better than stock. You have a great bottem end. So top it off with good topend.

I think those are different from the Eddy Performer heads (awful, no better than stock). These should be closer to LE2 if the flow specs I found aren't BS. They're just really expensive compared to ported stockers.

the car is a stick and is going to be a street strip build. Im going to run 315/35/17 nittos with 3.73s. I only have the edelbrock topend cause i got the heads and intake for 1400 altogether when i looked them up thier specs looked good but after i got them i started seeing people saying not to get them so im going to look into getting them ported. im also going to switch to longtubes.

Like I said, those heads are vastly different from the maligned 170cc Performers. The 195cc LT4s flow 265/185 @ .600" lift which isn't bad at assuming the numbers aren't inflated. No funny business like testing on a giant bore, different pipes, high reading benches, etc. LE2s flow 275/190 and LE1s flow 260/180 so the Eddy heads fall in the middle. You can get them ported but good luck finding someone familiar with them, it sounds risky. Swap the springs for whatever cam you end up with and be done.
That cam is at .6" lift w/1.6 rockers. The grind says HR but that's definitely borderline SR. Wayyyyy too big imo, would downsize to something in the 23x/24x range @ .050 if you want a moderate sized cam. If you want something with little surge (very very important in a stick car) then go with 22x/23x. Don't go too tight with the LSA (stay around 110 for NA) or it will be too choppy and driveability will suffer.
3.73 isn't bad but 4.10 is perfect with the T56. If you're keeping the 10 bolt then I'd stick with 3.73 though, the 4.10 pinion is very small and the rear is already dinky.

would the cc306 cam be good to run or should i call llyod elliot and get a custom cam? and i plan on getting a moser or s60 when money allows but that probably wont be till next summer. What should i do clutch was looking into competiton clutchs stage 2.5 or 3. Would 60lb just be to much cause i can get them from a friend or just get 42lb

Get a custom cam. No sense putting in an oversized injector either.
