im yanking the motor/trans and all that jazz out of my 94. question is, is the harness a straight swap? id like to just leave the harness/pcm on the 94 engine/trans and put them right in the 96. not sure if some of the harness to body connections are different. my 96 harness is a little messed up in a few spots, and id like to keep my msd probillet opti. thanks
The 94 wiring harness will not have connections for the rear O2 sensors, the crank sensor, or the EVAP vacuum switch on the passenger valve cover. If you are using the 94 PCM, you don't need any of those things. Engine will run fine without those. The 94 (unvented) Opti connector is different than the 96 (vented) connector, but that's just a matter of transferring the short Opti harness (from the grey connector on the bracket on the passenger side of the intake manifold) that is in your 96, since you want to keep your (96???) MSD billet Opti. However if your MSD is from your 96, you can't just bolt a vented Opti onto a 94 engine. Have to change the timing cover, cam sprocket and camshaft.

I have a spline drive msd pro billet opti, and my harness from my 94 is in good shape, i plan on taking out the whole engine harness from the 96 and installing the harness engine and trans from the 94 into the 96 formula. My concern is the enine harness to body harness connections
@Injuneer basically im dropping the complete k member from my 94 with engine harness trans pcm and rolling it under my 96 formula that has a bad engine harness and blown motor
alright better question: is a 94 pcm a direct plug in, due to the transmission torque converter lockup differences. 94 is a on/off switch, 96 is a pwm solenoid.
95 is PWM lockup, but is is different than 96/97. As I understand it, only a 95 4L60E can be used with a 95PCM. If you are using the 94 PCM, you would have to use a 94 4L60E.
