Accident report

Got in an accident on Wednesday that was admittedly my fault. To be fair though the engine was acting very strange and I was on a road with no lane markings and just the right size where you can't really know for sure if it is 1 or 2 lanes. I went to turn into a garage that I saw a bit late and got hit by someone speeding up beside me that wasn't there 10 seconds ago.Luckily the only suspension damage to my car is a broken tie rod but there is a good amount of cosmetic stuff. Hopefully I can start the process of finding parts and rebuilding soon.

Damn, that sucks man.

Try calling up some local junk yards and see if they have any T/A fenders, bumpers, and/or what ever other cosmetic part you need. You can find some pretty good deals there.

I only had minimal insurance on the car plus comprehensive, no collision. I think I will come out ahead anyway with the $1000 per year difference over the 20 months I have had it and my $500 deductible. I've already found fenders for $50-60 +shipping on LS1tech but I am going to do the tie rod first as well as a new wheel. I'm in college right now so I don't have much cash on hand.

Sorry to hear. Looks like the door and hood are salvageable though. :)

Yup, they are fine. It will need a mirror, fender and bracket, front bumper, wheel well lining and a wheel. I have been putting off replacing the front tires for quite a while so I will take car of that too. Most likely I'll need to get the bodywork painted unless the local junkyard still has the wrecked Trans Am. The other guy managed to sandwich himself between a telephone pole and a parked car, so he will just need to get another beater.

Nice.. I had something very similar in damage to my old Camaro a few years ago. Someone blew a stop sign, and resulted in this:

Both the fender and front bumper were skrewed up, but the hood remained almost untouched. They werent hard at all to replace, and everything turned out fine after that. The fenders you were lookin at are used though on LS1Tech.. correct?

Just take your time and it can look as good as new. ;)

Yes but I just found someone where my uncle lives in Hyde Park that has a couple of the pieces I need in black.
