Hey guys.
I broke a stock tranny mount within 1 week, after installing a new one last week.
The stock mount was broken when I bought the car, too.
I am betting this means that the motor mounts are bad.
Correct?
There is also a whirring kind of oscillating vibration usually only at WOT, and it is way loud with the Energy tranny mount and much less noticeable with the stock mount, but it's still there.
I am betting that this vibration is caused by bad motor mounts.

The vibration you're probably picking up from the poly trans mount. They're NOTORIOUS for transmitting a lot of noise into the car.
You should be able to get an eye on the mounts from the back side. Just have a look and see if they're sagging bad. If they are, it can only help to change them out.
Hey thanks for your reply. After I changed to a factory type mount, from the poly mount, I still noticed that "whirring" vibration, but it was just less pronounced, which leads me to believe that SOMETHING other than the poly mount is causing the vibration. I am certain that the motor mounts are bad because that is what causes tranny mounts to break, especially when I am only running a stock LT1 with shorty headers and a good tune.
I am thinking that the motor mounts are bad and causing: A) the whirring vibration and B) the stock tranny mount to break.
I just bought a set of SLP Bilsteins and Strano springs from Sam Strano. I am excited to fix the mounts and install these new shocks and springs. I am still running on the stock decarbons, and they truly suck.
