ABS Relocation.........

Ok, this is something I've been pondering and am thinking of tackling over the winter, as I *may* be able to get the car inside. If that's the case, I want to relocate my ABS unit, for several reasons. Mainly, asthetics and clearance for the turbo pipes. The biggest question is WHERE. It's got to stay in a vertical position for one........I thought about under the panel where the CAI would go, but the Meth Pump and Scavenge pump reside there. I don't think there's room on the back side of the shock tower. PERHAPS under the nose by the drivers side breather tank, on a custom mount that bolts on.

Any other thoughts?

I by all means realize the monumental task this will be, as it will require entirely new brake lines for the car. But hey, I'm the brake line guy.

How fond of ABS are u?

We removed mine cause it was in the way of the blower.

Sounds like more trouble than its worth . Cool yes, brake lines are easy to make but thats going yo be alot of working to make it look good and factory I say delete it proportioning valve - profits

I'm all about my car being no compromise. I still run air conditioning and power steering, and a 12 bolt over a 9 inch because it retains the abs.

undertood.... i agree with that however i have never been a fan of abs in non winter driven vehicles, thats y i was askin how important it was to u.....

X2. People can keep their cool wile driving can actually stop better without ABS.

Just about the only place I can see room to mount it would be in the nose like you mentioned. Good luck. As always, take many pics of the install :)

Just remember this is contingent on if I get inside storage for the winter. I will not be working on the car outside in the cold.
