Popping at wot
Ok I need some help i had a nitrous backfire and since then the car just won't stop popping at full throtle. I've changed everthing I can think of and its still popping at full throtle. The plugs are autolite 104s gapped at .028, new mass air, could the IAT have anything to do with the popping? PS this is without running nitrous!
The car has a 389, 12.5 comp LE stage three heads custom nitrous cam 244/244, ported and port matched with a monoblade opening lt1 intake with a BBk 58 throtle body. Eagle crank with scat rods, JE nitrous pistons, nitrous outlet plate system 200 shot.much more.. 10.04 @ 135 so far.

Where is the popping noise coming from? Through the exhaust like a back-fire or through the intake?

Popping through the exhaust, it has a reworked MSD opti reworked from MSD but its very strange got all the torque down low but when it gets to wot or if your driving and you punch it it wants to pop out the exhaust. I just spoke with Keith from PCM for less and he said when it has a nitrous backfire it can really mess up some stuff. He said the iat is cheap enough to try but told me to check the tps as well any other ideas?

Pull the plugs and look for a shiny porcelain, will cause your popping at upper rpms.
I probably can't describe it correctly but I think its a rich condition and higher temps melts the extra gas onto the porcelain and then that glaze acts like a conductor instead on an insulator.
My typhoon did this when trying to dial in the tune and drove me nuts till I found some good plug reading info online.

Lean pops? I would definitely take a look at the plugs to see what condition they are in.

Well the car runs great until the top end then it pops out the exhuast and trys to still run hard, the plugs are new and haven't had any nitrous run threw them. I haven't taken the car out with the gauge on the fuel rail to see if the pressure dips but when you pull the vacuum line it push's up to 50 psi.
