Dealing with idiot coworkers. Bird poop.

I work in a generator maintenance shop. Currently there is only 2 guys in the shop. Me and the biggest hypocrite and f0(kn idiot you'd ever meet. This guy drives me nuts all day long. From his ignorant comments on politics, religion, basically everything in general, to the things does in the shop. I could list for hours. Most of which isn't anything against shop policy's or any govt mandated rules. Unless you consider it harassment, which I feel its bordering on at this point. He likes to spit his dip in the water fountain as well as all over the shop floor. Little things like playing the same CD over and over again, or playing music no one cares to hear LOUD and feeding the birds. Which has been an all day pass time for him since I started working here 6 years ago. The birds now know that the food will be here daily and hang out in the shop waiting for this idiot to stop what hes doing to feed them.

I have asked him to stop as the birds are taking craps all over my work bench, tool box and jobs. He will get all hissy pissy, and say its just bird crap and storm off. To make matters worse and to purposely piss me off, he will then start feeding the birds around my tool box and bay. Thus I have more bird crap than normal. Knowing that bird feces is quite nasty and carries may diseases. I really would like to not have to work in it daily \rant


Anyway, how would the LTx community deal with this idiot? I could go to the boss, but that would just make the verbal torture more frequent and directed to me. Which I cant realy control because they are just idiotic comments. I would also expect that he would do anything he could to drive me more crazy. I have thought about bird deterrents, but I don't see them working. I have a plan for the radio ;) , but the birds are my main concern, as the pose a health risk and I am tired of cleaning bird crap off my tool box.

Shoot the birds and the dipshit problem solved . I worked with this guy for 5 years he always tryed to get me fired and he harassed me daily and always tryed to set me up so I tryed to get the boss to handle it that didn't stop it so I started playing his game and stayed a step ahead of him I torchered him daily I had him about to quit finally he chilled out and I let off for a Wile. But I sware them pricks will always try to test you here and there i just put him in place here and there made my life a bit better . I would cut the cord on his radio for sure .

shoot the birds with an airsoft gun. they will stop coming round

Join him for a day feeding birds but feed them exlax coated food lol and watch the fun.

Glad someone can share my aggravation. I don't have time to play his games really. I'm the only person in the shop that can fix basically everything and I have a constant stream of units to repair. The idiot only rebuilds little 2 cyl engines, and not very well either. I know I could bring in a much louder radio but I then I would be causing problems in the office lol. Cutting the cord is too easy. He'd fix it with some electrical tape. I think hes going to have a problem getting any FM stations when ever I'm at the shop :) New toy should be in soon.

I thought about tampering with the birds, but its not the birds fault they get fed so well. All birds in the USA are protected by federal law, aaaaand I could see this escalating. To the point that Richard-head would bring the police into it just to spite me for removing or limiting the number of his birds.

Signal jammer? That's a good idea. At risk of sounding like my mother, what are the chances you can sit down with your boss/owner and explain the situation? It sounds like you do a very specialized job that not many people could just walk into the shop and do. If you tell them that this guy (a non-producer) is causing disruptions, making your work area unsanitary, and generally causing you grief, maybe they will see the writing on the walls and say to themselves, "this is a guy we cannot afford to lose, let's make this right before he leaves us with a pile of work we'll never be able to finish". If that doesn't work just kill his dog... j/k retaliation is rarely enough and often leads to bigger problems.

Tampering with the radio is always an idea, an easy way to make sure he can't play CD's is to take a sharpie and coat the laser diode with with - that way he can't see what's wrong with it and he won't be able to play any more CD's whatsoever. That along with the FM jammer, which I've made a couple before would be a good thing to make his radio basically inop.

As for the birds... simplest solution would be to make a bird feeder outside the shop that would attract their attention elsewhere and not in your workbay area. I worked for a company that sold/equipped police vehicles and I was an installer there and had the most obnoxious POS for a co-worker who would do anything to possibly piss you off, sabotage what you were working on as a "joke", move tools, replace hardware with incorrect hardware...etc. If you need any more possible ideas, I made his life such a living hell that he quit...PM me and I tell you some more tricks that I played on him.

I had another guy I worked with years ago I wrapped him in duck tape hooked him up to the huge chain fall and raised him to the sealing . And for his little buddy I wrapped him in duck tape as well and thru him in the trunk of a car and race him around the shop hitting every pot hole .
