So I ran the vin on my car today and it comes up as a 95 firebird with a 3.4 v6.
Only problem is I bought my car and it has all the v8 options, the rear end is 3.23 posi sooo im wonderin if my car was maybe vin swapped.
There is no codes in the glove box and no tags on the door
The car fax says my car had 112,000 miles in 01, my odometer currently says 79,000 somethin seems fishy to me and idk what I can do bout it.
Id appreciate your guys opinion on what to do, thanks
Wow.... That does sound weird. Initially I was going to say check the vin and look for the P as the 8th digit, but you state that you did that.
As a cop, the first thing that comes to mind is your car is a stolen car, that was revinned with a firebird plate and paperwork.... but enough of my negativity.... Im really curious on this one, and Im not sure where else vin numbers are located on F-bodies...

Someone probably swapped an lt1 in it at some point in its life.
does it have a 155 speedo too?
Yup 155 speedo. Had stock exhaust air intake and everything when I bought it.
A P on the vin is only way I can think of. As stated, perhaps someone did a ltx conversion. If cluster was swapped the milage would be different. If the door stickers are gone it is gonna be hard to track down any info. Was the car repainted or the door replaced?
