I’m scared

I have what it looks like oil on a lot of my spark plugs when I change them out. Some wet and one or two dry. I’m hoping it’s just the head gaskets, because I have been driving the car with a rich tune. The plugs always end up with carbon build up and the car back fires. I always have to rev the engine to clear it out or smash on the gas pedal and drive it at high rpms to clear it out. How can I find out myself if it’s the piston rings or my gaskets without taking it to a mechanic?

Looks fuel fouled. I would get your fuel problem figures out first.

I agree. Looks like your running rich. I would work on that fueling issue sooner rather than later. Over fueling will cause your oil to thin and can cause the piston rings to wash out...

Those are fuel fouled bro. Damn I though my car ran rich and my plugs are no where near that bad. When was the last time you changed the plugs?

definately looks fuel fouled to me too. if you continue to run that rich you will wind up burn oil cause you will wash the cylinders down and wind up scoring the cylinder walls and damaging the rings as well

Ya’ll just gave me hope and stopped me from jumping off a bridge. I bought two mail order tunes from the top two mail order tuners and both tunes run way rich. I will have to take the Z to Sand Springs, Oklahoma to Fast Chips, because it’s the closest to me and I live in Houston, TX. I also don’t believe have the time to learn how to tune my car. Oh, and it’s a 93 speed density car that’s why I only have two choices to take the car. I am questioning if it’s even the tune since both tunes were rich. Any ideas to solve this problem?

Not sure when the last time I changed my plugs cause I don't drive the car often, but I have to change them about every 6000 miles.
