I picked up a set of (what I was told) OEM ZR1 wheels that were all chrome. They have since been powder coated. I believe they are 17x9's or 17x9.5's. I just had some nittos and bfg's mounted on them. 275/40/17s all around.
The front wheels fit fine. The rears just plain old don't fit no matter what.
It appears that they won't slide over the hub. Do I need to run a spacer and longer studs?
hmmm I know 1993 cars you had to ream out the hub hole on the wheels to clear the hub button on the axle. Maybe the powder coating thickness is holding you up? I know my ZR1 replicas fit fine, but my buddy's OEM ones tooks smome grinding. Maybe 1994 had the same issue?
Possible. I tried some grinding on the wheels since they seem to have a lip on the inside of them. I'll look into it a little deeper this weekend.
My 94 rear end in the third gen had the same problem. I ground out the center of the wheel a little so it would slide over the axle hub. Worked great and haven't had any problems.
You have to grind the actual rims a little bit to fit around the center circle hub/axle thing not sure what you call it.
93-97 Fcars rear hubs are slightly bigger than 98-02 rear hubs . This is a VERY common problem and easily fixed by what everyone
has mentioned . Just grind the lip out of the center of the wheels and they will slide on just fine :)
yea i had the same problem with my 02 ws6 wheels, tore up my studs with a impact before i realized it.

I got the rear wheels on. Now the bird looks pretty sweet! I'll post pics in the appearance section in a few weeks when it's outside. It's currently up on jack stands without a top end, trans, and d/s so it's kind of hard to drive around for some reason.
edit- I was able to grind the lip down with an electric drill and a decent bit from the hardware store. It took all of 2 minutes to grind it down. I then applied some anti sieze on the hub area so the exposed metal doesn't fuse fast over time. I slapped on my ebay Corvette badges and the wheels really look bad ass. It's starting to not look like my car anymore which is a good thing.
