There's a huge difference going to 4.11s. I went from 2.73s to 3.73s in my a4 and it was like a new car! You aren't really adding power, just changing how you accelerate and whatnot - it's a must-do mod!

starting with a 3.42 going to a 3.73 is not going to be much difference.
Go with atleast a 4.10 or higher.

night and day difference 3.42-4.10 when i swapped mine out the first thing i noticed was how much easier it was on the clutch leaving a light
the first couple of days i was the first one across the intersection...
now onto the fun stuff, freeway speeds say 65 in 4th gear makes you feel like 2nd gear with 3.42s....i finally get to really USE 6th gear.. 4.10s are such an awesome set up only problem for me is that i cannot spray all the way to the line w/ RPM limited to 6100 unless i am on 28" rubber

I have a 93 z28 6 speed t56, with 3:42s . Would 3:90s be worth it or should i just go to 4:10s

93 z's stock only come with 2.73s or 3.23s with the six speed. Were they swapped once before?

It came stock as the performance gear package, and im daily driving it so would 4:10s kill my gas mileage?

yes and no, you'll be revving a tad higher at your normal speed

You can get a mail order tune ($100-150) to correct your speedometer for the new gears.

I still hold that 93s only came with 2.73s or 3.23s
The "performance gear package" you speak of used the M29 transmission with 3.23 gears

Still need to know if it is auto/manual and the year
If it is a manual 93, you need something like a dakota digital box to fix the speedo
If it is an auto 93, you can change the tailshaft gear to fix it.
Otherwise either of the companies that Kiss posted should work to correct it

x2, cause mine has the performance gear option, and from what i understand 3.42's were not available for 93's
